Tony Cragg: Form Talks
토니 크랙: 형태의 대화
About the exhibition
Tony Cragg's recent sculptures go on view at Thaddaeus Ropac's Fort Hill gallery from November 26, and the gallery's Korean announcement says new works are among them.
Cragg calls himself a "radical materialist." The gallery explains the idea as close study of the internal structures of matter, informed by scientific research.
The artist will speak on the gallery's first floor on November 27 at 5 p.m., covering half a century of work and the latest pieces in this show. The gallery asks guests to RSVP.
About the artist
Tony Cragg (b. 1949) was born in Liverpool and worked as a lab technician at a natural rubber research association from 1966 to 1968, before art school. Cragg completed an MA at the Royal College of Art in 1977 and, according to the artist's own biography, moved to Wuppertal, Germany, that year. Across the career, the gallery lists found objects, layered wood, bronze, stainless steel, fiberglass and Corten steel. Cragg won the Turner Prize in 1988 and represented Britain at that year's Venice Biennale.
