Jungwha Jung: Searching for the Letters Swallowed by a Ghost II
정정화: 유령이 삼켜버린 편지를 찾아서 Ⅱ
About the exhibition
In this solo show, Jungwha Jung extends a story first staged in 2024. An imagined Kafka tries to send messages by letter and telegram, meets strange accidents as the media carry them, and is finally drawn into the channels themselves, appearing in different times and places as himself and as his own ghost.
The earlier version, shown with Nothing Is Real, featured a large machine with lettered arms, like an enlarged part of a typewriter, tapping on the wall, and a passage through which letters traveled, voicing text drawn from Franz Kafka's letters. For the second part, Amado says, Jung builds out the story through sculpture, video and installation placed in fragments across the space's small rooms and corridor, with a soundtrack by Siegfried Koepf and two new black-and-white films.
Walk the whole building. Amado describes the threads of the story as linking and breaking across every room, so the space works like a single body. The show is curated by No-One Kwak and supported by Arts Council Korea.
