Noh Sang-Kyoon: Shiny Ephemera
노상균: Shiny Ephemera
About the exhibition
Noh Sang-Kyoon's surfaces are made of small sequins, arranged and stacked one at a time. The colors and depth you see change with the light and with where you stand.
Gallery Simon presents this slow layering as a way of questioning the gap between what we see and how we understand the world. In this solo show, earlier works meet new imagery, which the gallery says adds a more painterly dimension to the artist's long investigation. The gallery asks visitors to notice the "fleeting shimmer" on these slowly built surfaces.
