About the exhibition

Since 2004 Myoung Ho Lee has set large white canvases behind subjects in the open, a single tree for example, and photographed the result. This museum solo looks at how that idea has changed.

The 47 photographs fill the second and third floors of the museum's exhibition galleries and run through to the new Kiribati series, which Gallery Hyundai describes as a record of an island nation threatened by rising seas.

The museum sits in Eunpyeong, in the northwest of Seoul, and takes a bus from the subway. Lee also has a concurrent solo at Gallery Hyundai.

About the artist

Myoung Ho Lee (b. 1975) studied photography at Chung-Ang University and works in Seoul. The Photography-Act Project began in 2004 and includes the Tree and Mirage series. Collections include the J. Paul Getty Museum and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea.
