About the exhibition

Five artists born between 1992 and 2001 fill HITE Collection's two floors with painting, sculpture, video and performance. The foundation presents the show as its young-artist exhibition for the second half of 2026, co-curated by Sunghui Lee and Sunju Lee. The curators argue that this generation no longer feels time as a straight line: the future seems to have arrived early, and the past has become data that can be called up at any moment. The title holds both ideas, everything far collapsing into one sealed present and everything far staying out of reach.

Sit down and listen. Sollee Kim's piano-shaped sound sculpture of 2025 grew out of the artist's own sudden hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness. Visitors can sit on it while sound from three speakers mixes inside.

Daul Rheem plays a CCTV recording of the empty room on a screen that blocks a drawing on the wall behind it. The work takes its title from "Jupiter phobia," an online fear that the planet's Great Red Spot is watching.

Janjaa built an instrument from car parts and metal scraps collected on the streets of Pilsen in Chicago; struck together, they ring like wind chimes. Siyoung Song's videos follow how media has shaped and erased human bodies, from Leni Riefenstahl's Olympia to mass games. Seoyoung sets a slow-motion arm beside a handheld walk through the city on two screens.
